8-31 (to 28 February) Brussels Made in Korea
An all-singing, all-dancing celebration of Korean culture, Bozar’s five-month festival includes performance art, theatre, film screenings, workshops on calligraphy and meditation and literary evenings. Things get off to a spectacular start with a colourful city-centre parade. The subsequent Smile of Buddha exhibition showcases some of Korea’s finest Buddhist art, while the adjacent Centre for Fine Arts will stage some of its best contemporary work.bozar.be

Copenhagen Halloween in Tivoli
Half-term festivities at the Tivoli Gardens include appearances by both the Tivoli Witches and the Pumpkin Band. Get in quick if you’re desperate to know the results of The Danish Championships for Giant Pumpkins, though. The results are announced on the 11th. tivoli.dk
14 Newcastle Abba: The Show
Capitalising on the success of Mama Mia, tribute show Waterloo (who’ve been called the ‘best Abba since Abba’) pitch up in Newcastle before moving on to London and Birmingham. They’re not shy up north, so be prepared for plenty of audience participation. abba-the-show.com

Stockholm Leonard Cohen
2008’s been a busy year for Leonard Cohen – he embarked on his first tour in 15 years and got a rapturous reception at Glastonbury and The Big Chill. This October he’s playing at Stockholm’s Globen, before moving on to Copenhagen, Brussels and Milan. globearenas.se
16 Geneva Andre Rieu
lite’ but with 36 albums under his belt, violinist Andre Rieu must be doing something right. He plays the Stade de Geneve this month before decamping to Australia for most of November. stade.ch
16-19 Naples Artecinema
Now in its 13th year, Naples’s International Film Festival on Contemporary Art will screen more than thirty films on architecture, photography and art this month. Highlights include Damien Hurst: Addicted to Art, a documentary on the artist’s new role as collector. artecinema.com
18-31 (to 20 November) Oslo Artsfest
Oslo Artsfest Staged at the gorgeous, gleaming Oslo Opera House, Mozart’s Titus tells the story of the Roman emperor who, despite his power and influence, has little control over his personal life. Book your tickets as early as you can, as it will probably sell out. operaen.no

23-31 (to 15 March) Brussels Oceania: Ritual Signs, Authority Symbols
Held at the ING Cultural Centre, Oceania pulls together artefacts from Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia, three regions hitherto under-represented in Western exhibitions. Look out for malagan death masks and prow figures inlaid with mother of pearl ing.be

Florence Women in Power: Caterina and
Maria de’ Medici
The Palazzo Strozzi’s latest exhibition tells the story of the two Medici queens’ struggle for power over 15 huge tapestries. The tapestries were reunited in 2005, but this is the first time they’ve been shown in their subjects’ home town. palazzostrozzi.org
London Westfield
With more than 200 stores, including Thomas Pink, Louis Vuitton and Sienna Miller’s line Twenty8Twelve, Westfield will put Shepherd’s Bush on the radar of any dedicated shopper. There’s also a 16-screen cinema here and a spa’s set to open next spring. westfield.com
